This dynamic position in Cardiff Hospital, involved being part of a Brief Intervention Team (BIT). I was involved in assessment and management of complex mental health conditions from wide geographical patch. I contributed to the waiting list clinic effectively. I had a close liaison with education and social care, and delivered high quality multi-agency working.
The role in Tonteg Hospital involved delivery of the health board’s initiative of ‘Local Enhanced Service’, in the form structured neurodevelopmental clinics, in Rhondda Cynon Taff and Merthyr Tydfil localities. The main task has been not only to review and monitor the psychotropic medications but also to bring the families onboard to sign up for primary care clinic arrangements.

This role involved assessment and treatment of complex mental health conditions at Tier2/3 levels. I effectively contributed to team’s clinical leadership. I was involved in neurodevelopmental clinics every week. In addition, I worked in close liaison with paediatrics, social services and other disciplines. The role allowed me to give expert advice on medication managements for under 18 people. I work with multidisciplinary team in delivering various treatment modalities ranging from pharmacotherapy, CBT and parenting advice. I regularly teach medical students and other allied disciplines.

This dynamic role in Tier 2/3 team combined elements of working in generic CAMHS and outreach team I was involved in assessment and management of complex cases, including risk management plans. I had an opportunity to carry out medication reviews on regular basis. In addition, I provided consultation to other disciplines e.g. psychology, family therapy, nursing etc. Overall this experience helped me to polish skills for providing effective clinical leadership

Post Graduate Teaching MRCPsych CASC Exam Chair and Founder - Cardiff CASC Training since March 2012
I am the founder and chair for Cardiff CASC Training, responsible for providing MRCPsych CASC exam training in Wales. I regularly organise training events in partnership with Wales Deanery. The positive outcome is in the form improved exam pass rates in Wales. (www.cardiffcasctraining.co.uk).
